wow what a weekend for us again,so where do i start. lets start at the beginning ,half 6 sat morning ,lewis comes into my room steaming drunk he he and hes just back from town . 2 1/2 hrs later we got to start our first match . we went 8-0 up but ended up with a 11-7 win ,an ok start but could have been so much better .lewis wins both his games hardley missed a pot he he.pete and kev mumford also won both their games and i lost both mine and was by far the worst player over the weekend .a team called eccles then took on the team we beat and they beat them aswell 13-5. so we had to beat eccles . we went 2-0 up thru pete and jamey street then led 5-1 with wins from paddy bobby and lewis ,then i lost again tut tut (5-2) beforesammy and jez both won for us to lead 7-2. great start only need 3 out of 9 to go thru. we shared the first 2 frames and so 8-3 up lost the next two then lewis won again (4 from 4 still steaming and drinking more too ) 9-5 up need one more .bobby lost i lost sammy pots his last ball and screws white back into the middle and loses jez on last and lost 9-9 and out again . pete and lewis both got 4 from 4 everyone else 2 from 4 except me 0 from 4 (well played me )
Great Start for Bicester going 8-0 up score now at 9-3. One point away for the win. and a great chance of getting out of the group and into the last 32.

on sunday Bicester select again qualified for yarmouth later in the year and this time a total of 12 players represented Bicester over at witney. Witney ,Walingford and Abingdon took us on and first up for us was our biggest challengers in the shape of Witney who always fancy their chances of beating us . This was never going to happen thou as we were far to strong for them . After trailing early on we came through to win that match 10-8 . Then we beat the other two teams to set up a rematch with Witney to see who went to yarmouth in october . We beat them again 10-7 this time after leading 8-4 at one stage . Players to note this sunday for us were Jamey street ,Brian carroll and Ant scholtz who all played well on the day along with the usual solid performances from Armo ,Sammy, and Lewis . Al bremner also performed well . the weekest player on the day was myself he he oh well nothing new there then .Overall thou it was good to see we had a strong team out there and only time will tell how many can make the journey later on to Yarmouth .
Unlucky Witney they must hate the sight of us by now
As u can see lower down Bicester select still has a team in the Interleague comp that gets you to Yarmouth every year. recently Bicester have struggled to get players to go to Yarmouth after we qualify and this time around nothing has changed with hardly anyone contacting me with regard to playing interleague .As you pool players can see this team listed includes 2/3 players that shouldn,t be there but needs must and hopefully all will show and we will qualify again as normal and go to Yarmouth later in the year with a strong 10 players for a change . In 2 weeks we go again and we are short as usual and its a pain in the arse but myself and my other regular merry men will go and try our best to be the last ones standing he he at the bar at least (we,ve done that many a time )

Bicester select have struggled recently to take teams to yarmouth . i end up chasing players for money and commitment as to whether they going or not etc . so this season if players who i think are good enough and want to play will pay me £5 per head to start which pays our team deposit when qualified and after qualifying its £40 per head for accomidation in yarmouth which i will start collecting off players well before forms have to be in . 10 players max req,d. so far i have commitment from. paddy 1 bobby h 2 lewis b 3 john.b 4 sammy.d 5 jamie s 6 ant.s 7 p armitage 8
and hopefully i have talked Brian carroll into playing for us as well which will be my 9th player . -- Edited by john b at 16:58, 2009-03-05
