RE: Interleague Trials 09

you're right there john, there aren't enough committed people to create a second team, and theres only just enough to make the select up.
i suppose they have to want to play interleague themselves and show an interest rather than try to conjur up a team that don't really care or will only play every now and then.

thats why theres room for more than one interleague team  from bicester .
look at the turn out by the second team last time  ,they didnt bother really did they  .thats why the select is about and survived as long as it has and even that team has started to struggle recently to turn out .
comitment and money a big problem with some of them ,its hard to know if you gonna get 9 to go to yarmouth even when qualified as you well know its a right pain.
good luck with any feed back thou

I think a performance related team would be a good idea but unfortunately not everyone who plays in the Bicester pool league wants to play interleague, as was evident at the trials. So you would nt be able to take the top 9 stat players and make an interleague team. Also there are some people who cant play every monday thus affecting their stats.
On a personal note, i would like to apologise for my absence from interleague trials, i had christmas/family commitments that day.

Maybe the teams should be chosen on a performance related scheme, like how the Ryder Cup team is done for example? Now we have the Stats for all to see, so people could be playing for something come the end of the season, make it interesting wouldn't it?
For instance, you could have the top 8 players in the Most Wins get automatic spots, and the Captain gets 2 wildcard picks, making it 11 players if the Captain is automatically in. What do people think??

After all, Yarmouth and Interleague is all Single frame pool, so surely people should be judged on form, from a single frame pool league?
It would be nice if all Bicester Interleague Teams were filled with Bicester League players.

And people would not keep saying "Whats the point" because its always the same people in the A team.

Not having digs at people here, i'm just throwing a few ideas out in the open.

Obviously nobody considers themselves good enough to represent Bicester in Oxfordshire or even at Yarnmouth.
